Home again, Home again, jiggedy jig...

Me, Amanda, Lisa - MiParaCon2016
My first paranormal convention - Michigan ParaCon 2016 - has come and gone. My daughter and I spent some wonderful time together, we met a few awesome people and also met up with a mutual friend we've not seen in a few years. Sales were good (we were vendors) with soaps being the biggest hit. It was a long, crazy couple of days and I'm feeling the effects of not enough sleep, too much fried food and a smokey environment. Today was a re-group and eat right kind of day.
  So, some details....

The Upper Peninsula Paranormal Group in Sault Saint Marie, Mi put this event on for the 7th year. Having never been before I have nothing to compare it to but other folks assured us it was much much bigger and better attended than previous years. There were several 'big names' from the paranormal industry present as both vendors and presenters with about 20 other folks (like us) that were there only as vendors. Lisa and I were there with a table of my Persephone's Folly brand products such as home made soaps, leather journals, and jewelry that are all geared more towards that genre and interest as opposed to my Northern Visions art which would not have been at home there.
I had a 'fan girl let down' moment when a 'paranormal personality' I had really been looking forward to meeting turned out to be not terribly pleasant and seemed to not want to be there at all. I have really enjoyed this person's show in the past but may not watch for a bit now- the in-person experience was not very enjoyable. But, aside from that person the Speakers and Presenters we did meet were absolutely delightful- Grant Wilson (Ghost Hunters) and his assistant Lindsay were both great and Dave Schrader from Darkness Radio was very sweet. The two guys from Deep South Paranormal (a  now canceled syfy show) were a riot and our fellow vendors were all very friendly and talented.

I got home at about 10:30 last night making for an almost 19 hour day and went almost immediately to bed --after I had ice cream. I have my priorities.....
Today was cloudy and not 'beachy' so I stayed home, settled some house stuff, answered emails and worked on New Orleans orders that need to be shipped this week.
I just finished some wonderful fried rice I whipped up and will more than likely indulge in a warm bath later on and then an early bedtime. Tomorrow the beach house opens (so says the weatherman) and we begin our last week of the summer season...

Later all-- thanks for reading and happy hauntings :-)
