this weekend in The Soo |
I'm enjoying one more cup of coffee and then its time to get moving. The car is already packed and my over night bag just needs toiletries and then I'm off.
First off is a quick trip to the grocery store for supplies for the Beach House then to the Beach House to make up the weekend's supply of Cherry Chicken Salad and Bison Burger Sliders. Then to Rosecliff to water the the plants on my way out of town.
After that I'm driving straight north until I reach the Call Box on the south side of the Mackinac Bridge-- (aka: scariest bridge in the friggin' state) where I will call for a nice bridge attendant to drive me and my car over that sucker. I have tried and tried to master my terror of that behemoth with no success so this time I'm giving in and calling for help. My husband is giving me the same look you give a puppy that has its head stuck in a paper bag but whatever....
my nightmare |
My next stop is Sault St Marie (called 'The Soo' here in Michigan) in the Upper Peninsula (The UP) where my daughter and I will spend a weekend people watching, selling super cool wares from Persephone's Folly and visiting at ParaCon. In my not so typical fashion I am all fan-girl about possibly meeting and getting a picture with Amy Allen and Grant something or another from TAPS. Normally I have a strict 'don't care about celebrities' rule but sometimes that rule gets chucked right out da window!
I'll be home and back to work on Sunday and the summer will almost officially be over- I simply can't believe it. BUT! That means I get to paint again! Yay! Stay tuned for paintings of the new Landings Restaurant in Ironton, Mi. and several Mackinac Island houses that caught my fancy....
