Good Morning All (5 or so of you that read this LOL) ~
I'm sitting here all bleary eyed having suffered not one but two tragedies this morning-
1.) we had somehow run out of 'real' coffee leaving only a quarter of a bag of 3 year old decaf beans from the freezer and
2.) the Bunn coffee maker took over 45 minutes to brew said yucky beans. The horror!! But Jack saved the day by running to the store for caffeinated French Roast beans which have been turned into the life-giving ambrosia currently in my coffee cup.
And All Is Right With The World...
Very shortly here I will have to move my very tired butt towards getting dressed and packed; today I head to Mackinac Island for my annual Spring Help-Out wherein I hang out with friends at their Bed N Breakfasts (2 buildings), lend a hand in readiness chores (I think I'm painting trim this year) and reacquaint myself with The Island after a long winter's absence. Its a great few days of opposites ; socializing and 'me time', relaxing and running, part tourist and part local....

A few days ago I hosted my first ever 'Paint n Sip' party. About 5 ladies showed up to paint a pre-chosen picture, snack, sip some wine and chat. It was a lovely time and it was fascinating to see how each person's picture was at the same time similar and yet infinitely different. I'm thrilled with how the workshop turned out and absolutely plan on hosting more of them! I love the idea of providing a safe place for people to explore their creative selves -- especially those folks who believe that they are not creative. Watching them smile and play and open up to the process is fabulous!
This particular workshop was done at my home but I am planning on hosting one or two outdoor events this summer....
Have a great few days... I'll be back this weekend to catch you all up on Spring time news and views from Mackinac Island...
