The Still Point...

Helix Nebula Eye of God Art Print

 It snowed again last night. April showers here in Northern Michigan tend to be -er, 'chunky' and not at all conducive to flowers....
   My bed faces a picture window that looks out into my back yard. When I woke up this morning and saw everything blanketed - AGAIN - in white I told my husband that I was not getting up until there was green grass and leaves out there and the temperature had reached a respectable 70*.
 And then the dogs barked. And my phone chirped alerting me to a text. And the cat yelled at me. ... No rest for the chilly.
 As I sit here typing the sky is turning a brilliant blue and the weather app on my phone is promising me that the air will warm to the mid 40's hopefully melting this most recent snow fall . I know there are buds getting ready to open, bulbs beginning to sprout and reach towards the surface, and seeds breaking open below the layer of last year's fallen leaves. Everything is poised to blossom on every level. I know it. The Still Point is both Potent and Difficult....

“At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor fleshless;
Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is,
But neither arrest nor movement. And do not call it fixity,
Where past and future are gathered. Neither movement from nor towards,
Neither ascent nor decline. Except for the point, the still point,
There would be no dance, and there is only the dance.” t.s.elliot
