Happy Spring!

Getting Back To The Blog

Well, I have let this blog languish -again! - for far too long.
All winter, very very bad lol!

A quick catch up- and there's lots! I left off during our month in New Orleans. It was wonderful and I was sad to leave, though glad to come home to my own house. Christmas was a quiet affair but shortly after Yule we added a new member to our family --Meet Cooper!

Cooper is a now 16 month old German Short Hair Pointer/Lab mix and the funniest, most dear guy I've met :-) We adopted Coop from the Charlevoix Area Animal Shelter in January.

But - because we are 'go big or go home' types we couldn't stop there- meet Bentley. Bentley is a Black Lab/Husky mix with ice-blue eyes. We adopted him at 8 weeks old in February from the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society. He has grown like a weed and is Mr Attitude!
 Bentley and Cooper are Besties

Throughout the winter its been puppy-world here but lots of fun. Cooper- being a hunting dog - has proven to be a real challenge on a leash. We keep trying but he may never be a good Walker. Bentley is great on a leash- so long as Cooper isn't with us LOL.

So - that was dog news..what else?
I got back into Yoga and took an intensive 3x per week session for about 2 months that I loved! However, finances have dictated a DIY approach recently so I'm learning how to create my own practice. I don't enjoy it as much, but I'm getting there.

In March Jack and I took a quick week break and headed to Clear water Beach, FL to catch up with family and friends and enjoy the beach. It was a lovely get away and much needed!

Since then its been a whirlwind of work, wedding plans (our daughter is getting married in June), summer work prep and planning and more wedding plans!

The weather has finally turned and we've had some glorious warm days and green is beginning to dominate and replace the winter grays and browns - I am most grateful.
This Monday I head over to Mackinac Island to help some friends get two Bed and Breakfasts opened for the season- this is something that they can all do with their eyes closed and I am most grateful that they include me every Spring <3 Its a few days of non-stop work and running up and down lots of stairs but so nice to see everyone again after a long winter..  Its become a nice Spring Tradition.

THE WEDDING (this is how I see it written in my head lol) is the last weekend of June. The first Concession Stand at the baseball field will open for a softball tournament about 10 days before it with the other two at the beaches opening two days after- whew! Once they're opened it will be smooth-sailing but total insanity until then!
