This is day two of my August long Blog-a-thon. I normally write these in the morning but there was no time in the crazy work-before-work early hours.
I was fortunate enough to have my daughter work with me this afternoon at the Beach House and we did a fairly decent lunch. The weather was breezy and only in the mid-70's but the colors were so saturated that our environment seemed surreal. We live in an almost ridiculously beautiful place.
After work we headed over to one of our local farms - Kitley's -- for a truly lovely haul of black raspberries ( we do the U-pick) and sweet corn. I love it out there- its such a beautifully kept farm and Sue is a delightful lady who's warm generous spirit infuses the whole place. If you're local I highly recommend going out there.
Normally I would make a ton of jam but I'm so pressed for time right now I may just freeze some of this and do jam in mid September. A raspberry cobbler is definitely in the Russell household's future though! Sunday evening we have a potluck planned with another family at the beach; I may just share the cobbler joy :-)
