We Are In Da Houzze

We made it-- and with not a small amount of foot-stamping and calender waving on my part. But we are here--back in Our Town in a cute little full-log cabin. I am not unpacked--may not be fully unpacked until October, but that is OK too-- because its a journey, right? Right?
OK--screw that.
The not being unpacked is killin' me.. my boxed food items were finally located in a bag under the bathroom sink and half of my clothing is still in the East Jordan House--ditto for my bed. Two days after getting over here my husband came down with flu--completely walloped him and laid him flat on the couch. Going on day 4 for him. What does that have to do with unpacking? I need him to locate/build/acquire a work island for the kitchen with storage and counter tops and stuff. Did I mention this is a SMALL cabin? So for now I have boxed potatoes and mac n cheese stored in a bag next to the hair conditioner in the bathroom and a ceiling fan awaiting hanging laying in the middle of the living room floor. Yay... But its OK, because this is a 'journey'. Right....

So all of my anxiety-induced griping aside I am absolutely tickled to be back 'home'. Meg (the amazing wonder Lab) and I have walked down the road to Lake Michigan a couple of times and when I'm on the schedule at Consign Design I can walk there too! People are friendly and the kicked up energy of the coming Season is infectious--I adore Charelvoix in the summer months!
In fact, the amped up Can Do energy of the town this time of year caught me unawares and before I knew what had come over me I was hip deep in paintings, jewelry, art dolls and the like and setting up a special little space for Northern Visions in the Consign Design building Its very pink and girly with enough 'oddities' to make it interesting yet not scary. I hope. Would sure hate to spook off my potential customers! But there is seriously no other place in Charlevoix to aquire high end incenses, glass encased saint candles, smudge sticks, and metaphysical books. And Artsy-types are expected to be a little quirky, right? I think it will all be fine... So now, dear  Readers (all 8 of you *smile*) you can find cool-beans Northern Visions stuff on line or in person!

Have a great day out there!
Annie

Congrats for getting in your home! Living in a small space takes getting used to, I like that you call it a journey. 4 years in and we are still figuring things out in our tiny trailer.
