Venetian Festival aka: its a marathon not a sprint

Good Morning all 8 or so of my readers :-)
Its Friday in July and I hope that means some down-time and weekend re-charging for you all.
Not the case here! Tomorrow officially begins Venetian Festival in Charlevoix which kicks off with AQUAPALOOZA at Ferry Beach on Lake Charlevoix. Thousands of people descend on the beach and the shore line in boats, rafts, and on foot to hang out, drink, eat, listen to music and basically just spend the day partying in the sun. Sounds so great, doesn't it? For me and my folks it will be a day of serving food and drink to those party people and hopefully making a boat-full of cash too!
That is the start of of it all--- for the next week there is a constant stream of parades, carnival rides, concerts, sporting events and revelry of all kinds, it really is an amazing festival for such a small town! And we've all learned a long time ago that its best to pace yourself- especially if you're a local and have to work through it AND try to enjoy some of the festivities too! One day at a time and pick and choose your events-- there's tons to do for a full 7 days. The following pictures are from some Venetian's past... (taken my me)
