Nola-bound

As we move into the height of summer I can feel a shift towards the autumn- even though its due to be 90* today here in the North (finally!!) A noticeable change is happening; the colors are getting deeper, a gold tinge is wavering around the maple leaves and the stores are showing more yellow and orange home goods and clothing...
Normally this would make me very very sad- and there is still a tinge of melancholy  - but this year is different. With every tiny turn of the Wheel I get closer and closer to my much worked for goal- a full month spent in New Orleans - yay!!! All of my hard work this summer has gone into this pay-off and I canNOT wait! We're all going - my husband, myself and our fur-family members and we'll be staying on Ursulines just on the edge of the Quarter and close to Louis Armstrong Park. We will leave Michigan a few days into November and return a few days into December. These are a few things I'm looking forward to--

* Evening coffee at CCs
* FINALLY getting to go to Preservation Hall
* Photo Safaris with friends there
*Walking - not shipping - my orders to their destination on Rue Royal (because, Yes- I'll still be working)
*Helping serve Thanksgiving to the less fortunate in Jackson Square
*Visiting New Iberia
*Visiting The New Orleans Healing Center on St Claud
*Early morning walks to Jackson Square to just 'be' before the crowds come in.

So! For those of you wondering what the crazy ass work schedule is about this summer, this is it! And - as I said above- I will still be working while I'm there (As The Root Queen says 'The Voodoo Doesn't Sleep' ) - I'm looking forward to this extended visit and the opportunities it will provide. Anyone in Nola reading this who is looking for restaurant or house maintence work
