A few weeks ago I wouldn't have believed it but I do think that Spring is tippy- toeing our way. And its about time! Holy cow, what a COLD winter- weeks and weeks of temps well below -10. Yuck.... But the last few days have brought warmer weather and melting snow- and hope :-)
This time of year always has me dreaming of gardening and for whatever reason I am fixated on shade-loving Hostas and twisty-turny garden paths; I need to add some structure and back bone to my otherwise square backyard. Hostas -- in the meaning of plants and flowers - symbolize Devotion and bricks are traditionally used in workings for Protection so I'm loving the idea that the structure of my yard will be based on The Protection of Devotion - perfect for a family home!
I'm not sure who to give credit to for this lovely image- it was undocumented from Pinterest - but its just what I have in mind. I would also like to add 'pops' of color - and meaning - with perennial flowers such as Pansies ( the Thoughts of Lovers), Snapdragon (protection) and tall, stately Sunflowers (power, warmth, abundance).
if you've never planted your garden or arranged your yard according to herbal and plant lore its a fabulous way to add depth and meaning to the space as well as an Energetic component that will be felt by everyone- whether or not they understand what it is. You will find family and friends are pulled to your garden as well as wildlife and butterflies. For more information check out these great websites:

Wonderful Annie! I love when there is such wise and conscious consideration in the garden! I can't wait to wander that meaningful path.
