THIS------->
Is Detroit Michigan. Well, obviously not the whole city, but the ONE shot I was able to get while my husband made a turn-around and gasoline stop on our way back up north from Virginia. I am bound and determined to get into the city -- and back out alive-- to get some pictures of the houses and buildings before they are gone forever. Such beautiful structures in such a once-proud city. I feel an obligation to 'save' what I can in images.
Is a summer Northern Michigan Sunset over Lake Michigan. That is one of the many reasons I live here. I have never seen another sunset anywhere that I've been that can rival ours. The sky starts out as an azure blue then turns lavender and pink as the sun grows heavier and heavier and begins to sink towards the horizon. As it dips below the line between air and water the sky turns bright orange and the lake becomes molten gold....
The Other Thing ----->
This section should more accurately be pural 'thingS'--but ah well, I'm sure you all get the gist of the post as it is :-)
That 'thing' up there is one of the newest paintings available on etsy and also at my Art-Corner in Charlevoix. It depicts (in my own informal style) a typical Charlevoix flower garden with Lake Michigan in the background. I chose this because one of the 'other things' going on is that I may be out of an 'Art Corner' before the season is up and my items will be bricks n mortor-homeless due to some re-arranging in the current building. This can be fairly simple for me personally; I gather my things and bring them home and sell only on-line. But the other considerations are:
1.) Find another gallery where my art will fit and the financial arrangement is do-able
2.) Gather my stuff , bring it home, do away with etsy and sell only through my long-neglected website
3.) Gear up to do Art Shows again....
The other issue with this is my dead-in-the-water Walking History Tours which was also hosted out of the same building. It has been a monumental bust--only ONE tour this season-- so this is the official death knell of that. Chalk that up to 'it seemed like a good idea at the time'...I have a nifty little pamphlet of great history and ancedotes that I may turn into a DIY Walking Tour to publish on Kindle.. who knows?
I can't shake the feeling that the ground beneath me is shifting and re-settling--like the Two of Pentacles in the Tarot.That's the image I have. And that's ok-- so long as the energy stays there and settles. I can handle the gentle shifts and re-arrangements; its the abruptness and trauma of The Tower card that I hope to avoid..
But for now summertime in Northern Michigan (I dare you to NOT sing that a la Kid Rock!) swings along- Venetian Festival is fast approaching and with it the Zenith of the season. ...
More on that next time.
Be Well

I love that shot! You are right, Detroit has some beautiful architecture. It's always sad to drive through and see so much of it looking like a war zone.
I hear a lot of people say Etsy isn't working for them. I say go with what works. Do you like doing art shows?
And finally, the haunted tour, I'm so sorry that didn't work out. I wanted to do that too.
First off-- Thank you so much for being such a loyal reader and comment-leaver, I really appreciate it!
Yes, Detroit makes me sad.. so much lost..
As for etsy, I have a love/hate relationship lol! And I guess the issue is I haven't really found WHAT works just yet. I've done art shows in the past and enjoyed them--might be time to get back to it.
Thanks for the condolences on the tour lol
