Summer is coming to an end ; the leaves began changing about 2 weeks ago and a few vibrant red and yellows are now littering the still-green grass. It makes me excited and sad-- its a bittersweet feeling to know that the beauty and bounty of summer fades so quickly up here. The weather is still blessedly warm and the light is a mellow gold- August is a refined Lady who will graciously give way to the bawdiness of October in a few weeks.
This past weekend was spent immersed in new energy and experiences when I received my Reiki I and II attunements from Reiki Master Morgan Wood. I was told that this infusion of energy would change me forever and while I didn't NOT believe it I was unprepared for the subtly of it. I was waiting for earth-moving-lightening-striking reactions and instead I have received gentle waves on an azure ocean. It is truly lovely. I have wanted to have these attunements for over a decade but the timing or the finances never quite jelled to allow it until now. I'm grateful and excited for the opportunity to offer healing and comfort to people, animals, and the earth. I have already begun treatments on Megan (my elderly Lab that those of you who follow me have heard all about! LOL) and she visibly 'unclenches' and settles in during these sessions. I'm grateful to be able to offer her comfort. At the current time I am collecting a packet of crystals and stones that I will use in conjunction with the traditional treatments. I have found that certain stones are excellent for clearing and realigning the chakras and energy points in the body. Its wonderful to gather so much of my previous training and put it to such a gentle and loving use. I plan on taking clients in October once we're all re-settled from the summer craziness and our son is settled in the dorms.
