So I'm home from almost 2 weeks of helping my Mother out after her knee replacement surgery and trying really hard to not feel completely over-whelmed.. These next few weeks are going to be craziness; I just need to remember to breathe and have fun. I have to unpack, go to the grocery store, CLEAN THE BATHROOM -- because the male species just does not do this <??> and do 4 small commissioned orders today and tomorrow.
Beginning tomorrow I will be at CD setting up a new boutique department that will hold brand name and higher end clothing; very excited about that! The room that had housed the green ware and bisque for the on-hold Que Sera Sera pottery business is going to be cleaned out, packed up and re-made with shelving, mirrors, hanging racks, dressing rooms--the works! The plan is to have that up and running in a few weeks. This isn't going to be just a 'used clothing section'-- each and every piece will be submitted for approval before it can be added to inventory. I will be looking for higher end brand names, unique and beautiful vintage items and excellent quality. I'm very excited about this! I'll keep ya posted :-)
I'm still awaiting my Halloween costume for the New Orleans Witches Ball that is in roughly 6 weeks! Ack! So very excited but so very nervous too!! If that dress doesn't arrive soon I may just keel right over!
And while I'm waiting for that delivery Apple Fest is fast approaching which means a huge influx of family and friends for our last big festival and an art booth to man in the park. The week after that I head back down to my Moms for a quick over-night to meet with a new client who wants some painting done in Detroit. One week after that I leave for New Orleans!
And then there's the usual approaching Winter Holiday season and crazy school year schedules...
My oh My!
And yet, the most tantalizing of the new possibilities came by way of a physical therapist downstate who saw some of the artwork I was working on at my Mother's house. This young man comes to the States by way of India and has requested a digital album of my canvases. He would like lots (as in multiples) of paintings done that he could send to India to his family's gallery. Apparently art collectors in India are all over American Folk Art at the moment. Who knew? Not I...
There was also mention of being flown to the gallery itself if the art is well received. Seriously! Whoa!!! India?! I can't quite wrap my head around that but I took the first baby-step into international art selling and sent my digital album to the email that was given to me.
And now I wait..
