Summer Plans and Autumn Dreams

Even though its a 'balmy' 34 degrees outside the tiny little sweet ants that have invaded my kitchen and bathrooms are a clear harbinger of Spring here at Casa de Russell. Being residents of a summer resort town Spring means summer prep. In years past this also meant hours and hours of yard and garden work when I had an acre and half of flower, herb and berry gardens--complete with fish pond! But , fun as they were, those days are past and now my prep is all about business--or rather NEW business.
I am awaiting the final OK from my paperwork submitted to the City of Charelvoix wich will grant me a license to run evening historical walking tours in the downtown area. They will be historically based with a haunted twist or two but will primarily show off the amazing and unique history that envelopes Charlevoix and the surrounding areas. This is a project several years in the works and I have my fingers crossed tightly..all I need is the go-ahead and I can begin to sell tickets, get my literature printed, and put the finishing touches on the production itself. The name of the business-to-be is Charlevoix History & Haunts Tours and there is a burgeoning Face book page if you're interested in taking a look :-) Our website is HERE , stop by!
So along with the prospective new tour business we're also re-locating back over to the city of Charelvoix and have our house in East Jordan listed as a resort rental (see previous post). This move is not going as quickly as I would like, but I tend to be a little impatient lol... We should be over to the new house within the month (April) with the East Jordan house on the rental market by the end of May for Season...
And as much as I primarily LIVE for summers in Charlevoix I am anxiously awaiting the end of October so that a friend and I can attend THIS! That's the New Orleans Witches Ball for those of you who didn't click on that handy-dandy link. Though you really should--the website is fantastic and the photos are amazing! My friend Cairelle and her cohorts organize this extravaganza annually and I am just thrilled to be able to attend this year! I have all summer to alter the most fabulous vintage negligee into a Victorian Flower Nymph costume and work on hair and make up :-) our accommodations are set and I'm scouting flights weekly, its going to be fabulous! And don't worry-- you will hear more and more an more to the point where you mutter *Just get the hell to nola, all ready* LOL
So there's the updates for now, though I have no idea who reads this; might be more of a diary...
Stay tuned for more info on Charlevoix's first historical walking tours!
