Good Morning out there !
The sun is shining here in da North and the sky is the bluest of blues. Counter-intuitively this means its colder than all get-out and dry as a bone. Ahhhh-- the one-two punch of Northern Michigan winters!
After a concentrated effort of hunting down a place to move to in Charlevoix we have finally located a place that will 1.) Take pets 2.) is located in the city limits 3.) within our price range. Of course, to get all of those must-haves we also had to give up a few 'wouldn't it be nice's' like a garage, square footage, and modern heating systems. Again--its that One-two punch thing again! We will be moving to an original-to-the area honest-to-goodness Log Cabin, circa 1930 or so. And this is a true log cabin--not some yuppified version of split half logs on the exterior but nice smooth modern dry wall on the inside. Nope, no way, nu uh-- this is a full log with chinking. Of course anyone who knows me very well is laughing their tooshies off at the prospect of me, a log cabin, and the whole 'lodge decor' thing as I have been pretty outspoken of not big a fan of cut out metal moose and bear. But I'm kinda diggin' this little cabin and very very grateful that we can return to Charlevoix in a few months! The location is wonderful--My Meggie and I can walk to the beaches and dunes of Mt McSauba, across the bridge and into town for festivals, groceries, etc.--- we will be Home....
Currently the push is to get our house here in east Jordan rented as maintaining rent and a mortgage payments would severely stretch out resources. I'm hoping that we can get someone in here my the end of April for a smooth turn over... *fingers crossed*
June will hopefully find Jack and I taking a quick trip to Virginia to visit family and help with some home remodeling. I would like to take a day or two to explore DC in a liesurely way and do some photography. Afer that trip its full tilt boogie into our high season here; summer in Northern Michigan will be in full swing and there's no leaving for trips again untill the snows fly. Fine by me--Summer here is simply fantabulous and nothing I would want to miss!
But for now, for today, work beckons--dolls need to be made, laundry taken care of and dishes done...
Here's to a great day for YOU too!
